On behalf of the Buffalo Sabres Alumni Association, we are deeply saddened by the passing of our brother, Dale Hawerchuk. Dale was many things to our alumni. He was a teammate, a brother, a best friend, and a role model to say a few. We will never be able to find enough words to define the impact he made on the game, the community, and the people that knew him.

 

After retiring from the game of hockey, he continued to be the strong leader he exhibited on the ice and in the locker room. He continued to model for us all how to be strong and fight the challenges life presents.

Our thoughts are with Dale and his family throughout this tough time.
